Web Explainers
An excellent way AI can support study and learning is by creating web explainers.
I use the term web explainer for a web page designed to clarify a single idea, concept, or fact in a clear, engaging, and visually appealing way. It combines visuals, interactivity, and an attractive layout to make complex topics easy and enjoyable to understand. The focus is on the joy and playfulness of learning. It is a bit similar to an infographic, but much broader in scope and depth.
The best way to make the idea of a web explainer clear is by giving some examples.
First a web explainer that explains itself:
Next a further example of a web explainer which is related to a book I am reading about physical geography. Occasionally I need a bit more explanation to fully grasp the ideas in the text. For example, to understand the difference between heat and temperature I used the following web explainer:
Temperature vs Heat: The Thermosphere Paradox
As a completely different example, here is an explainer on the recent changes to the Dutch pension system:

You can find additional web explainers on the Web Explainers page. More are added regularly!
